The Stock Valuation feature provides accurate cost and value tracking for products across multiple warehouses. It ensures that each warehouse is treated as an independent storage unit, enabling precise valuation, reporting, and decision-making for inventory and financial management.

Problem

By default, Odoo treats all warehouses within a company as a single storage unit.

In our case, each warehouse should be considered a separate storage location.

This causes inconsistencies in product valuation across multiple warehouses, leading to:

• Incorrect product cost or valuation.

• Inaccurate sales price decisions.

• Misrepresented warehouse value when viewed individually.

Solution

We modified the standard Odoo behavior to take into account the specific location or warehouse involved in each stock transfer.

With this enhancement:

• Product cost valuation is correctly calculated per location.

• The same product can have different valuations across different warehouses.

• Reports, sales price decisions, and accounting entries are more accurate.

• This improvement also applies to landed cost and revaluation methods.
